It was funny Simon.
one of the nicest and coolest musicians ever.. take five dave.
rip.
.
I was saddened and suprised to hear this.
He was just touring last summer and playing a nice venue close by and I missed it. :-( He had a great PBS interview and I saw for the first time, what a great personlity he had . Also his gift of not needing to read music . He was a charming, talented, engaging man , very involed in his belief system too.
i know this has been discussed before but i think a fresh thread on this will be enjoyable.
JW Gonebad, I agree
Brother Razor.
He left a trail of tears in our area. Even the Elders dreded his visit.
I heard he died.
these guys are awesome still !
with john bonham's son jason on drums he really captured his dad's spirit !
all 4 guys were on top of their game .
Hey there Flipper
It was a very special day. I went with my little brother. We would also hit many midnight showings at an old theater to watch 'The Song Remains The Same " . Kind of early MTV type stuff, dont you think?
The 70's concert we saw was one of the last in the US . Robert Plant's young son died, so they canceled the rest of the tour.
Crossing fingers, hoping they tour again too.

I sure hope they do tour agian, it's been so long. That would be my dream concert.
I saw them in 1974 or 5 at the Oakland Coliseum, CA. It was kind of strange, having been there for District Assemblies. Wasnt used to stepping over barf and the smell of weed and beer. hehe
Hey there Flipper, I will be getting that DVD/CD.
Peace out to you too.
i posted this on an older thread, but i wanted to get an honest opinion about this from all of you.
i think taking the 1975 approach with a jw is...weak.
was it wrong (and false prophetic) of them?
Greetings Christ Alone
In my area, at the circuit assembly we had a "Bethelite" speaker, and he did say armagedon was coming in 1975. He screamed it like an old fashioned Baptist preacher.
Many things were said at that time, sort of 'off the record' , by C.O.s., etc. Combining this with what was printed, everyone I knew at the time, belived it. I remember sitting at the dinner table and asking my mom , so am I ever going to finish school, drive a car, get married? Many things . In fact she said Jehovah would straighten my teeth, so no braces.
I've brought this up recently , my mom denies it all and gets very defensive. My dad doesnt say to much other than it was true and the speaker at the assembly was counseled. What ever that means. Well thanks for letting me know . I was a scared teen and belived we were all going to go to concentation camps and have our fingernails pulled out.
You just had to be there at that time to feel the fear and frenzy.
today's study picks on the most vulnerable among us.
the mentally ill. .
the watchtower apparently hasn't learned that depression and mental illness are that a medical condition.
Hey WT. It's called illness for a reason.
For heavens sake dont go to Dr., I mean Brother Watchtarded if you are ill!
last night the folks on the weather channell were referring to our rainstorm as "the mess in the west.
" they always have to have a catch phrase, don't they.
i understand oregon is getting dumped on, up to a foot of rain in some areas, but we're closer to the southern end of the storm and they say we're just getting a few inches.. anway, isn't rain glorious?
sizemik,
This area is truly beautiful.
I have drivin this route many times, We always stop at the BlackeBear Cafe in Shasta , were Hortensia lives, for waffels and real milkshakes. It's a small town with that huge Mount Shasta behind it.
From there it's down hill going north to Oregon, where there is a nice town called Ashland, that has a very good Shakespear festival . They do contempary plays too. Many world travelers are there. I love this town and hope to settle there one day.
